The 30" x 36" Center Bottom Outlet DE Element Cover with Gasket (commonly referenced under commercial replacement parts by Hayward, Pentair / Purex, Jacuzzi, and aftermarket specialists like Filbur and Pleatco) is a heavy-duty fabric replacement jacket and perimeter seal kit. It is designed to refurbish the structural skeleton of a 30" × 36" center-bottom discharge DE filter grid without replacing the entire internal plastic frame assembly.
The jacket is constructed from acid- and rot-resistant woven polypropylene/polyester fabric sewn to fit tautly over the grid core, complete with a reinforced bottom aperture and an integrated rubber sealing gasket to seat the center bottom discharge hub into the lower distribution manifold.

Cut away the damaged outer fabric sleeve from the grid core. Wash the plastic frame skeleton thoroughly with a high-pressure hose to clear old, calcified DE cake.
Verification: The inner structural plastic ribs are fully intact, free of cracks, and completely clear of debris.
Pull the new fabric jacket over the frame from the top down. Ensure the fabric is pulled completely taut without diagonal wrinkles across the grid faces, aligning the bottom opening squarely over the central discharge port.
Verification: The fabric lies flat against both sides of the internal ribbing with no loose bunches or puckered gaps along the perimeter seams.
Fit the included molded rubber gasket around the center bottom outlet hub. Secure the jacket’s closure ties or retainer clamp around the collar neck, and apply a light film of silicone pool lubricant to the gasket sealing surface.
Verification: The gasket sits completely flush in the hub groove, and the fabric edge is clamped tightly with zero gap for DE bypass.
