The 30" x 36" DE (Diatomaceous Earth) Filter Element with Top Corner Outlet (packaged as a 4-pack master carton) is a commercial-grade, rigid filtration grid designed for high-capacity vertical DE pool and spa filter vessels. It is primarily specified in commercial and heavy-duty residential systems manufactured by Pentair / Pac-Fab, Waterway, Sta-Rite, and aftermarket grid specialists such as Filbur (FC-93xx / FC-94xx series) and Pleatco.
In this configuration, the discharge port is offset to the upper corner of the element frame rather than aligned along the center or split into dual ports. This design mates directly with an offset upper collection manifold or corner-runner return bridge, allowing filtered effluent to exit the top-corner perimeter while the lower frame corners slot into an alignment grid base.

Installation & Inspection Guidelines
-
Upper Corner Port O-Rings: Inspect the internal O-ring or sealing gasket inside each element's corner outlet. Ensure there is no cracked rubber or hardened DE residue. Lubricate with a silicone-based pool lubricant before seating.
-
Manifold Orientation: Ensure all four elements are facing the correct direction so that every corner port aligns squarely into the overhead manifold ports without twisting the frames.
-
Bottom Guide Seating: Align the bottom tabs into the lower spacer rack before tightening the manifold tie rods or retaining bolts. Misalignment will cause the frames to flex or crack under high pump-start differential pressure.
-
DE Pre-Coat Recommissioning: After sealing the tank clamp and bleeding all air via the relief valve, immediately recharge the filter through the skimmer with approximately 6 to 7.5 lbs of fresh DE powder while the pump is operating on high speed.
