The 60 Gallon Double Wall Containment Tank (26" Dia × 41" H with 14" Vented Manway) is a heavy-duty, self-contained chemical storage vessel engineered for commercial aquatic facilities, municipal water treatment systems, and high-demand chemical feed setups.
Featuring an integrated "tank-within-a-tank" secondary containment design, it fulfills EPA 40 CFR 264.175 and OSHA containment regulations without requiring external concrete curbs, secondary sumps, or containment berms. Its compact 26-inch footprint is sized specifically to pass through standard 30- to 32-inch commercial mechanical room doorways, making it a common choice for storing liquid sodium hypochlorite (12.5% to 15%), muriatic acid (31.45%), sulfuric acid, sodium bisulfate, and coagulants.
Mechanical & Structural Architecture
-
Integrated Secondary Containment (115% to 125% Capacity): The outer vessel is sized to contain 115% to 125% of the inner vessel's total volume. Any leak, stress fracture, or fitting failure on the primary inner shell is captured within the interstitial annular envelope, preventing spills onto equipment room floors.
-
Rotomolded Monolithic Construction: Rotationally molded in one seamless piece using virgin High-Density Linear Polyethylene (HDLPE) or High-Density Cross-Linked Polyethylene (XLPE). Monolithic molding removes welded seams and joints vulnerable to mechanical stress and aggressive chemical embrittlement.
-
Heavy Specific Gravity (1.5 to 1.9 SG Rating): Engineered with thick sidewalls rated for heavy chemicals up to 1.9 Specific Gravity, safely holding concentrated 31.45% muriatic acid (~1.16 SG) and dense 12.5%–15% sodium hypochlorite (~1.20–1.22 SG).
-
14" Oversized Vented Manway: Outfitted with an expansive 14-inch threaded or quarter-turn manway with an integrated breather/pressure-relief vent. The wide diameter allows easy interior inspection, pump drop-tube installation, and manual filling, while the breather dissipates off-gas pressure (such as sodium hypochlorite decomposing into $O_2$) and prevents vacuum implosion under high-volume chemical dosing.
-
Molded Top Pump-Mounting Landing: The reinforced top dome provides flat mounting surfaces to anchor commercial electronic metering pumps, peristaltic feeders, level switches, and top-draw suction lances directly on the tank.
-
Visual Fluid Level Monitoring: Molded from natural translucent white polyethylene, featuring raised gallon and liter graduation marks down the exterior sidewall for fast liquid inventory checks.

-
Plumbing & Port Provisions:
-
Top dome flats accommodate up to three 2" NPT female bulkhead fittings (suction lance, recirculation return, and interstitial leak probe port).
-
Top-draw configuration standard (prevents gravity drainage below the liquid line).
-
Chemical Compatibility Reference
-
Sodium Hypochlorite (12.5% – 15%): Fully compatible. The 14" vented lid provides continuous pressure relief for off-gassing oxygen.
-
Muriatic Acid (Hydrochloric Acid, 28% – 31.45%): Fully compatible. Sealed top-draw piping traps fuming within the closed suction circuit.
-
Sulfuric Acid (up to 50% concentration): Fully compatible at ambient temperatures.
-
Polyaluminum Chloride (PAC) & Liquid Coagulants: Fully compatible; smooth interior finish prevents organic deposit adhesion.
