The Pool Link 501 Series - ORP/pH/Temp, No Flow Cell is an automated commercial water chemistry controller engineered for commercial swimming pools, municipal aquatic centers, resort spas, and water feature applications. Designed as a flexible core electronics package without a bundled flow manifold, this unit provides microprocessor-driven monitoring and automated proportional dosing control for pH, ORP (sanitizer residual), and water temperature, integrating directly into preexisting sampling flow cells or inline plumbing bypass loops.

System Overview & Package Components

This configuration serves facility retrofits, existing bypass loops, and custom equipment wall panels where a sampling manifold is already in place:

  • Pool Link 501 Multi-Parameter Controller: Microprocessor-based digital unit featuring a high-contrast digital backlit display that provides simultaneous real-time readouts of water temperature, pH, ORP levels (mV), dosing output relay states, and system diagnostics.

  • Commercial pH Sensor: Heavy-duty, sealed combination glass-body pH electrode with porous liquid junction, low-noise shielded coaxial cable, and standard BNC connector.

  • Commercial Platinum ORP Sensor: High-purity platinum-band sensor engineered for rapid oxidation-reduction response across chlorinated or brominated water systems, terminated with a moisture-resistant BNC connector.

  • Precision Temperature Sensor: Solid-state temperature probe designed to report real-time basin water temperature and facilitate accurate compensation calculations.

  • Probe Mounting Adapters: Includes compression gland or threaded NPT adapters for securing probes into compatible flow manifolds or pipe fittings.

Technical Specifications

  • Monitoring & Control Ranges:

    • pH Range: 0.0 to 14.0 pH (control band typically calibrated 7.0 to 8.0; resolution: 0.01 pH)

    • ORP Range: 0 to 1,000 mV (resolution: 1 mV)

    • Temperature Range: 32°F to 120°F (0°C to 49°C)

  • Control Modes: On/Off (continuous), Proportional (pulse-frequency/time-proportional feed to eliminate chemical overshooting), and Manual override feed modes.

  • Relay Outputs:

    • Dedicated powered or dry-contact chemical feed relays for pH (acid/CO₂ or base) and ORP (chlorine/bromine feed equipment), rated up to 5A at 115V/230V AC.

    • Aux/Alarm dry-contact relay for remote notification, interlock systems, or external alert beacons.

  • Equipment Compatibility: Controls peristaltic dosing pumps, electronic diaphragm metering pumps, erosion feeder solenoid valves, CO₂ gas injection systems, and commercial electrolytic saltwater generators.

  • Safety & Interlock Features:

    • Independent programmable feed timeout limits per channel (auto-disables chemical feed if target setpoint is not achieved within a set time window).

    • High/Low parameter alarms (audible buzzer and visual display warnings).

    • Dedicated digital input terminals for external flow switch/safety interlock connection.

  • Enclosure: NEMA 4X / IP65 weather-resistant, corrosion-resistant thermoplastic enclosure with a clear, lockable hinged door to shield electronics from corrosive equipment room vapors.

  • Power Requirements: Universal 115V / 230V AC, 50/60 Hz, single phase.

Operational Footprint & Sensor Installation

  • Enclosure Dimensions: Approximately 11.0" H × 9.0" W × 5.5" D (approx. 27.9 cm × 22.9 cm × 14.0 cm).

  • Sensor Cable Length: Standard 10-foot (approx. 3.0 m) low-noise shielded leads with protective BNC boots.

  • Sample Stream Compatibility: Designed to seat into standard commercial acrylic flow cells (such as Hayward/CAT or generic 1/2" NPT compression ports) rated up to 50 PSI.

  • Ambient Operating Environment: 32°F to 122°F (0°C to 50°C), up to 95% non-condensing relative humidity.
