The 1-Metre ProDive Ladder at Rear Dive Platform (1-Metre Rear-Ladder Springboard Stand) is a heavy-duty commercial aquatic diving structure engineered for municipal competition pools, high school dive wells, and YMCA natatoriums. Configured with a dedicated rear-mounted vertical access ladder, this platform design minimizes lateral deck footprint and eliminates side obstructions, providing a direct, inline rear approach onto 14-foot or 16-foot competitive aluminum springboards (such as the Duraflex International or Maxiflex Model B).
Structural Framework & Material Composition
-
Support Framework: Heavy-wall structural 304 or marine-grade 316L stainless steel tubing (typically 1.90" OD with .065" to .109" wall thickness) or structural extruded aluminum side-beams.
-
Corrosion Protection: Polished, electro-passivated, or coated in a chemical-resistant polyurethane/epoxy powder finish to withstand chloramine vapor exposure and indoor natatorium humidity.
-
Rear Ladder Ingress Assembly: Integrated into the rear stanchions, featuring 3 to 4 slip-resistant textured steps (injection-molded ABS, fiberglass-reinforced polymer, or cross-hatched stainless steel treads) aligned directly behind the board's butt-end hinge.
-
Safety Handrails: Continuous safety handrails flanking both sides of the rear ladder and extending forward past the rear hinge assembly, providing a secure handhold during mount and hurdle approach.
-
Deck Mounting & Footings: Secured to reinforced concrete decks via heavy-gauge bronze or 316 stainless steel surface flanges or cast-in-place anchor sockets with bronze grounding/bonding lugs.
Dimensional & Safety Regulations (World Aquatics / USA Diving / NFHS)
-
Plummet Height ($H$): 1.00 metre (3 ft 3-3/8 in) from operational pool water surface level to the top surface of the springboard at rest.
-
Minimum Water Depth Envelope:
-
Plummet Line Depth: Minimum 3.40 to 3.50 metres (11 ft 2 in to 11 ft 6 in) directly below the tip of the board.
-
Forward Deep-Water Safety Envelope: Deep water must maintain minimum plummet depth for at least 5.00 metres (16 ft 5 in) forward from the board tip before sloping upward.
-
-
Board Overhang: Minimum 1.50 metres (4 ft 11 in) overhang extending beyond the pool wall/coping line into the diving well.
-
Clearance Envelopes:
-
Center line of board to adjacent pool side-wall: Minimum 2.50 metres (8 ft 2 in).
-
Center-to-center spacing to adjacent diving stand: Minimum 2.40 to 2.50 metres (7 ft 10 in to 8 ft 2 in).
-
Overhead ceiling clearance: Minimum 5.00 metres (16 ft 5 in) unobstructed headroom above the full length of the board.
-
Springboard & Fulcrum Interface
-
Supported Springboards: 16-foot Maxiflex Model B, 16-foot Duraflex International, or 14-foot commercial aluminum diving boards.
-
Rear Butt-Plate Assembly: Heavy-duty rubber-cushioned hinge blocks that dampen dynamic shock into the deck anchor points while anchoring the rear of the board with two 316 stainless steel hinge bolts.
-
Mechanical Fulcrum Channel: Integrated slide track accepting standard mechanical roller-fulcrum assemblies (indexed foot-wheel adjustment across 8 to 10 positions for fine-tuning board leverage).
