The Polaris P70 Robotic Pool Cleaner is a compact, efficient residential‑grade robot designed for reliable floor and wall cleaning using a lightweight body, strong suction, and a simple top‑access filtration system. It uses intelligent navigation to cover the pool methodically, scrubbing surfaces while capturing fine debris in its easy‑to‑rinse filter canister. The cordless design and intuitive controls make it user‑friendly for routine maintenance, and its durable construction is built to withstand regular submersion and outdoor exposure. Because it is a smaller, lightweight robotic cleaner with an internal battery and compact drive system, the estimated weight generally falls in the range of 12 to 15 pounds.
The compact Fluidra Polaris P70 Robotic Pool Cleaner (designed primarily for above-ground and simple flat-bottom pools) runs on standard household electricity.
It uses a corded, low-voltage electric setup that closely resembles the other Polaris robotic models:
-
The Control Box (Power Supply): This unit plugs into a standard household 100V–240V AC / 50–60 Hz outdoor electrical outlet. For safety, this must be a GFCI (ground-fault circuit interrupter) protected outlet.
-
Safe Power Conversion: The control box acts as a transformer to protect you and your pool. It scales the high household voltage down to a water-safe 30V DC (direct current). It has a maximum power draw of 100 watts, making it highly energy-efficient.
-
The Floating Cable: Power is supplied to the robot via a 40-to-45-foot floating cable (some specialized variants feature a 54-foot cable). Because this model is designed for smaller or simpler pools, this cable does not include the heavy swivel mechanism found on the larger iQ series models.
Like the rest of the Polaris robotic family, it runs completely independently without needing a pool booster pump or putting extra strain on your pool's primary filtration system.
