The Jandy Levolor Slip-Style 2-Contact Sensor with 50-Foot Cable (Model S-100-50 / Part # R0658400) is an electronic water-sensing probe assembly engineered for standpipe (static pipe) installations. It is commonly paired with Jandy Levolor electronic water level controllers (such as the K-1100 series) on swimming pools, spas, fountains, and vanishing-edge surge tanks where an in-skimmer sensor cannot be mounted or where water turbulence must be damped.

Unlike float valves, this sensor contains no moving parts. It uses dual solid-state stainless steel contacts embedded in an 18-inch rigid slip body designed to slide into a dedicated 1-inch or 2-inch PVC static standpipe plumbed to the pool. When water recedes below the lower tip, the circuit breaks, notifying the controller to initiate fill after a programmed wave-delay period.

Standpipe Installation Steps

  1. Plumb the Static Pipe: Tee a vertical PVC pipe into a pool equalizer line or low-point plumbing below the pool waterline so the water level in the pipe matches the pool surface without surface ripples.

  2. Mount the Remote Housing: Glue the slip-style sensor compression housing or adapter fitting onto the top of the standpipe.

  3. Calibrate Water Height: Slide the 18" probe down into the pipe until the bottom tip sits exactly at your target minimum water operating level, then hand-tighten the compression nut to lock its vertical depth.

  4. Pull Sensor Leads to Controller: Run the 50-foot shielded cable through electrical conduit back to the equipment pad and land the two sensor conductors on the designated low-voltage sensor terminals on the Levolor PCB.
