The Mer-Made 30" × 60" Double Outlet (Neptune Benson Replacement) — Leaf Only (often designated as the Skeleton, Bare Frame, or Core Assembly) includes the complete rigid structural filter grid and discharge hardware, excluding the pre-installed cloth bag (jacket) and felt compression collars.
This configuration is specified when re-covering frames in the field using existing or bulk replacement cloth bags, or when replacing physically broken, warped, or cracked PVC frames while reusing serviceable synthetic jackets.

Structural Design & Internal Core

High-Flow Drainage Core: An open-profile, heavy-gauge polypropylene or ABS drainage matrix that provides internal structural support against high negative vacuum heads (up to 15" Hg) while maintaining an unobstructed hydraulic path from the top of the 5-foot frame down to both discharge ports.

Perimeter Framing: Extruded rigid PVC/CPVC borders engineered to slide into standard commercial bag openings. Corners are solvent-welded or thermo-welded to prevent diagonal racking, frame twist, or bowing under hydraulic surges in the vacuum pit.

Dual Outlet Spuds: Molded into the bottom structural rail, each outlet features heavy gusseting to withstand cantilever forces when inserted into the vacuum manifold. The integrated stop collars establish the correct seating depth for felt sleeves and manifold receivers.

Field Clothing & Assembly Guidelines

Inspect Core Grid: Prior to bagging, verify the internal drainage grid sits flush and unbroken inside the outer perimeter frame channels. Ensure there are no sharp burrs or weld flashing that could puncture the synthetic cloth.

Pulling the Cloth Jacket: Slide the open-ended replacement bag over the top of the frame, working it down evenly toward the bottom rail.

Outlet Cutouts & Alignment: Carefully guide the dual bottom discharge stems through the reinforced factory outlet cutouts in the bottom of the bag.

Tensioning & Closure: Pull the bag taut across the 60" span to eliminate wrinkles or bagging (loose fabric creates uneven pre-coat cake thickness and premature blinding). Fasten the bag opening using the manufacturer's specified clamp strip, stainless steel staples, or tie-off system according to the jacket design.

Collar Installation: Press new felt compression collars over each spud against the locating stop shoulders before lowering the assembly into the Neptune Benson header sockets.
