The Mer-Made 39" × 50" Corner Outlet (Keene-Bowser Replacement) — Leaf Only (also cataloged as the Bare Leaf, Skeleton, or Core Assembly) includes the fully assembled rigid structural frame, internal high-flow drainage grid, and welded corner-discharge hub, excluding the fabric filter bag (cover) and compression sealing collar/gasket.

This configuration is engineered for large-format commercial and municipal vacuum DE vaults retrofitting legacy Keene-Bowser (Bowser-Briggs / Keene Corporation) systems where the collection manifold runs along the trench corner or sidewall floor junction. It is specified when existing cloth covers are being reused or sourced from bulk rolls, or when replacing physically warped, cracked, or calcified PVC frames in the grid bank.

Structural Design & Internal Core

• Asymmetric Drainage Core: Heavy-gauge, open-profile polypropylene or ABS drainage matrix engineered to guide flow diagonally across the 39" × 50" area directly toward the corner collection port. The rigid core prevents negative suction collapse under vacuum loads up to 15" Hg, eliminating dead flow zones in the opposite upper corner.

• Perimeter Framing: Extruded rigid CPVC/PVC structural channel with thermo-welded corner joints. The corner housing the discharge hub is reinforced with internal gussets to withstand cantilever torque and bending loads when seated into the manifold socket.

• Molded Corner Discharge Hub: Injection-molded PVC spud welded directly into the rail intersection. Features an integrated stop shoulder that establishes the correct seating depth within the Keene-Bowser receiver socket and ensures proper compression on the felt collar.

Field Clothing & Installation Steps

1. Verify Handing & Orientation: Confirm that the corner spud orientation (left-hand vs. right-hand) matches the manifold receiver locations along the pit floor before dressing the frame.

2. Inspect Frame Surface: Check the outer channel borders and bare grid faces for sharp burrs, rough weld beads, or cracks that could puncture a replacement fabric jacket.

3. Slide the Cover: Slide the replacement fabric envelope down over the 50" height of the frame, guiding the corner opening over the protruding discharge spud.

4. Seat the Spud Cutout: Pull the reinforced corner collar of the bag snugly around the base of the hub until seated flat against the locating shoulder without bunching.

5. Tension & Close: Pull the fabric taut across the 39" × 50" face to eliminate wrinkles or bagging, then seal the top closure (Velcro seam or clamp bar).

6. Mount Collar & Seat: Slide a fresh felt compression collar onto the corner spud. Lower the frame vertically into the vault, seat the spud into the corner manifold receiver, and lock the upper frame rail into the overhead tie-down channel.
