The Nordesco Plastic Bench 12ft - Sand (standard profile) is the maximum-length continuous-span freestanding commercial bench in the standard-width Sand series. Engineered for massive-capacity aquatic and athletic venues—such as Olympic-scale natatoriums, university athletic centers, municipal aquatic complexes, and long locker room thoroughfares—it provides 144 inches of heavy-duty seating while maintaining a slim 12-to-14-inch seat depth to keep primary traffic corridors unobstructed.

Functional Overview & Materials

Built for maximum commercial live loading and continuous exposure to aggressive aquatic environments:

• Heavy-Duty Polypropylene Slats (Sand): Fabricated from commercial-grade, UV-stabilized virgin thermoplastic slats in an integral "Sand" (warm tan/beige) finish. The chemically inert, non-porous structure is completely impervious to chloramine vapor, chlorinated splash-out, body oils, and concentrated sanitizers, eliminating chipping, peeling, rotting, splintering, and fungal growth.

• Rapid Drainage & Airflow: Longitudinal drainage slots direct pool runoff, shower water, and washdown spray straight through to the deck drains below, preventing standing surface puddles, accelerating evaporation, and preserving wet-traction slip resistance.

• Six-to-Seven Pedestal Understructure: Supported by six to seven heavy-duty structural upright pedestal frames fabricated from reinforced structural polymer or passivated stainless steel. This dense multi-post layout eliminates center-span sagging across the full 144-inch run and safely distributes dynamic live loads across the deck.

• Deck Protection: Fitted with non-marking, chemical-resistant rubber/urethane foot pads that protect wet tile, plaster, epoxy, and acrylic deck coatings from abrasion, scuffing, or gouging.
