The Pentair 18" Tank O-Ring (part number 152127, cross-referenced under the universal industry standard profile O-184) is a heavy-duty, high-pressure primary containment gasket engineered exclusively for the split-tank body clamp assemblies of legacy Pac-Fab and Pentair Nautilus and Nautilus Stainless Steel (NS) series Diatomaceous Earth (D.E.) filtration systems, specifically designed for 18-inch diameter tank configurations manufactured post-2001. Injection-molded from a heavy-walled, high-density, and chemically inert synthetic rubber polymer compound, this large-diameter seal features a distinct structural geometry measuring approximately 18-1/2 inches inside diameter and a thick 7/16-inch cross-section. Its primary operational role is to sit flush within the machined sealing flange channeled along the center perimeter of the split-hull chassis; when the upper tank dome is lowered into place and anchored by the heavy-duty perimeter tension band assembly, the O-ring compresses uniformly to establish an absolute watertight and airtight compression boundary. This critical pressure barrier enables the large-format filtration vessel to safely contain its high-volume circulation streams and sustain continuous internal system operating pressures up to 50 PSI without weeping, leaking, or experiencing dynamic seal blowout under heavy pump startup surges. Built to endure decades of demanding outdoor equipment pad weathering, shifting seasonal temperature expansion stresses, and constant dynamic pressure cycling, its durable elastomeric matrix completely resists material hardening, stretching, flattening, and advanced chemical degradation from prolonged contact with concentrated sanitizers like chlorine, bromine, or harsh winterizing acid washes. Due to its large circular footprint and heavy-gauge thickness, this replacement tank body O-ring carries a net product and shipping weight of approximately 0.50 to 0.55 pounds (about 8.0 to 8.8 ounces).
