The Pentair 188 12" Flexible Vacuum Head (historically part of the Rainbow / Lifegard line, part number R201112) has no motor, electrical wiring, or batteries. It requires zero electricity to operate.

Just like the larger ProVac and Superflex models, its "power source" is a combination of mechanical suction from your pool's main filtration pump and your own physical muscle power.

Here is how the system works to clean your pool:

• The Primary Mover: Your pool’s main filtration pump runs on standard household electricity to circulate water.

• The Suction Force: You attach a standard 1.5-inch vacuum hose to the vacuum head's suction port, then plug the other end into your pool's skimmer or a dedicated suction line. The pump creates a strong vacuum effect, pulling water and debris up through the bottom of the vacuum head.

• The Propulsion: Movement is 100% manual. You snap a standard telescoping pool pole into its universal snap-adapt handle and physically push and pull it across the floor.
