The Pentair 203 14" Superflex Vacuum Head is a flexible, weighted vacuum head designed to maintain strong contact with the pool floor for efficient debris removal. Its segmented, bendable body allows it to contour to curves and uneven surfaces, making it especially effective in pools with rounded bottoms or slopes. The enclosed weights help keep the head firmly pressed down during vacuuming, while the smooth‑rolling wheels ensure easy maneuverability without scratching the surface. Built with durable materials and a standard swivel hose connection, it’s a reliable choice for both residential and commercial pool maintenance, offering consistent performance and long‑lasting usability.

Unlike the robotic pool cleaners we just looked at, the Pentair 203 14" Superflex Vacuum Head does not have its own motor, battery, or onboard electrical power source. It requires zero electricity to operate.

Instead, its "power source" is purely mechanical, relying entirely on suction generated by your pool’s main filtration pump.

Here is how the power loop works to make it functional:

  • The Primary Mover: Your pool's main filtration pump runs on standard household electricity (usually 115V or 230V AC) to circulate water.

  • The Suction Force: By connecting a standard 1.5-inch vacuum hose from the vacuum head into your pool's skimmer or a dedicated suction line, the pump creates a powerful vacuum loop.

  • The Manual Drive: Because it has no internal motor or tracks to move itself, the ultimate "propulsion" source is you. You snap a standard telescopic pool pole into the vacuum's handle and manually push it across the floor of the concrete pool.

The vacuum head itself is just a weighted, flexible plastic tool with wheels that seals against the pool floor, allowing the suction from your main equipment pad to pull up dirt and debris.
