Just like the smaller Superflex model, the heavy-duty Pentair 22" ProVac Commercial Vacuum Head uses zero electricity and has no internal motor or battery.

Its "power source" is entirely mechanical, relying completely on the suction generated by your pool’s main filtration pump combined with your manual labor.

Because it is built for massive commercial pools, the power dynamic changes slightly in scale:

• The Primary Mover: The system relies on a high-flow commercial pool filtration pump to create suction.

• The Suction Force: You attach a heavy-duty vacuum hose (usually 1.5-inch or 2-inch diameter) to the vacuum head's suction port, then plug the other end into a skimmer or a dedicated suction line at the pool wall. The pump's flow creates the low-pressure vacuum needed to pull debris off the floor.

• The Propulsion Source: The unit weighs significantly more than residential models to keep it pinned to the bottom under high suction. Because it has no drive wheels or tracks, the propulsion is 100% manual—you control it by attaching a standard telescoping pole and pushing it across the pool floor.
