Pentair FNS® Plus 36 Sq. Ft. Vertical Grid D.E. Filter
The Pentair FNS® Plus 36 Square Foot Vertical Grid Diatomaceous Earth (D.E.) Filter (Model: EC-180007) is a high-performance, mid-sized filtration system designed to provide pristine, crystal-clear water for standard-sized residential swimming pools and heavy-duty spa configurations. Utilizing a curved vertical grid assembly engineered with Service-Ease™ design aesthetics, this filter provides 36 square feet of highly efficient filtration area that supports a diatomaceous earth precoat layer capable of trapping microscopic particles, fine dust, and organic debris down to an incredible 5 microns. The tank body is constructed from chemical-resistant, fiberglass-reinforced polypropylene, featuring a durable unibody shell that handles a maximum continuous operating pressure of 50 PSI while guaranteeing absolute immunity to rust, chemical corrosion, and intense outdoor weathering. Its optimized internal hydraulics minimize flow restriction to route water evenly over the curved grid pack, comfortably supporting a design flow rate of up to 72 gallons per minute (GPM) while paring smoothly with modern energy-saving variable speed pumps. Routine filter servicing is made straightforward by a heavy-duty stainless steel tension clamp for rapid split-tank access, an integrated continuous High Flow™ internal air relief system with a manual relief valve, and a convenient 2-inch bottom drain port for rapid winterization. Shipped with open side-mount bulkhead ports, the system allows pool professionals the ultimate flexibility to attach specialized multi-port backwash valves or high-flow slide valves to suit specific equipment layouts. The dry weight of the Pentair FNS Plus 36 D.E. Filter tank body is approximately 67 pounds (noting that full operational deployment requires an initial charging of 3.6 pounds of standard D.E. filter powder), establishing it as a highly reliable, structurally rugged, and hydraulically efficient core for advanced water clarity networks.
