Pentair Air Bleed Tube

The Pentair Air Bleed Tube is an essential internal safety and performance component utilized across nearly all Pentair pressure-vessel filtration systems, including the Clean & Clear Plus cartridge, FNS Plus vertical D.E., Quad D.E., and Triton sand filter series. Molded from a lightweight, rigid composite polymer or flexible vinyl, this narrow tube stands vertically inside the filter tank, spanning from the lower plumbing manifold to the absolute peak of the upper dome. Its primary operational purpose is to continuously purge trapped air pockets that naturally accumulate at the top of the pressurized vessel during pump cycles, preventing dangerous pressure spikes and maintaining optimal water flow dynamics. To prevent clogging, the intake tip of the tube features a fine-mesh screen or fabric sleeve that blocks loose pool debris, sand, or D.E. powder from entering the narrow exhaust channel. Because these tubes must match the exact height of the filter vessel to function, they vary in length from approximately 24.5 to 40.5 inches, carrying an actual product weight of 0.15 to 0.45 pounds and requiring extended, rigid cardboard shipping tubes that push the packaged transit weight between 1.5 and 3.0 pounds to prevent snapping or bending.
