The Pentair ClearPro® Lateral (primarily part number 155251 for standard lengths or 152229 for short configurations) is a specialized internal fluid-collection manifold arm engineered exclusively for high-efficiency pool and spa sand filtration networks. This innovative distribution finger is standard hardware designed specifically for Pentair Triton® II and Tagelus® series sand filters equipped with advanced ClearPro Technology®—such as the TR60 and TA60 ClearPro models manufactured post-June 2007.

Injection-molded from a heavy-walled engineering polymer composite, the defining feature of this lateral is its specialized porous plastic construction. Unlike traditional sand filter laterals that rely on molded mechanical slots, the ClearPro design incorporates a micro-porous screen matrix engineered to act as an ultra-fine structural barrier. Its primary operational role is to serve as the final extraction gate at the bottom of the pressurized sand bed. During the standard pool filtration cycle, water is forced through the dense silica sand, and the ClearPro lateral allows clean water to pass through into the internal collector hub while stopping tiny particles. This secure joint establishes a watertight hydraulic path that safely channels the consolidated streams of clear water into the vertical internal standpipe and out to the pool return loops. The robust assembly handles high-velocity circulation and sustains continuous internal system operating pressures up to 50 PSI without weeping, flexing, or unseating under severe pump vibration surges or high-velocity backwash flow reversals. Built to remain permanently submerged beneath hundreds of pounds of dense media, its rugged polymer compound resists structural warping, material brittleness, and chemical degradation from prolonged contact with pool sanitizers like chlorine, bromine, and winterizing acid washes.
