The Pentair TR100 Air Relief Tube is a vital internal safety and air-scavenging component engineered exclusively for the vertical containment architecture of the Triton® and Triton® II series high-rate 30-inch pool and spa sand filtration systems, specifically tailored to the internal depth of the TR100 and commercial TR100C vessels. Depending on the filter tank's manufacture date, this replacement line is designated by part number 154437 (measuring 24 inches long with a 1/4-inch outside diameter for configurations manufactured prior to November 1999) or part number 150041 (utilizing an upgraded 3/8-inch outside diameter and measuring roughly 27 inches long for post-November 1999 models). Positioned at the absolute highest point inside the top dome of the filter tank just above the active sand bed, an air relief strainer cap captures pockets of trapped air pushed in by the pool pump, while the semi-flexible tube bridges this intake screen down to the lower plumbing or lateral assembly. By utilizing a specialized venturi tracking effect to continuously draft trapped air out of the dome and route it safely back into the pool return loops, the tube prevents the filter vessel from becoming air-bound, eliminating localized "water-hammer" pressure spikes, safeguarding against internal media channeling, and dropping the risk of structural tank dome flexing. Extruded from a chemically inert black vinyl or engineered plastic polymer compound, this component successfully handles high circulation velocities and continuous operating parameters up to 50 PSI while resisting structural flattening, environmental stress-cracking, and advanced chemical oxidation from direct exposure to chlorine, bromine, and seasonal acid flushes, resulting in a nominal net product weight of approximately 0.04 to 0.15 pounds (about 0.64 to 2.40 ounces).
