The Pentair Triton II TR60 Lower Piping Assembly is a critical internal fluid-distribution conduit engineered exclusively for the lower basin architecture of Triton II TR60 side-mount high-rate sand filtration systems. Depending on the filter's manufacture date and technology sub-type, this component is designated as part number 154805 (for legacy TR60 filters built before June 2007 utilizing standard threaded laterals) or part number 155284 (for contemporary TR60 ClearPro® models featuring a quarter-turn snap-locking design).

Injection-molded from a heavy-walled, high-impact, and chemically inert polymer compound, this rigid plumbing section measures approximately 12 inches in length. Its primary operational role is to establish a secure hydraulic bridge between the filter's lower wall bulkhead fitting and the central lateral collection hub buried at the base of the sand bed. The legacy version (154805) features a 2-inch Female Pipe Thread (FPT) adapter on the bulkhead connection end and a 2-inch Male Pipe Thread (MPT) connection on the hub side to thread directly into the matching plumbing infrastructure.

During the standard pool filtration cycle, massive volumes of pressurized, debris-free water collected by the slotted radial laterals are directed through this unyielding horizontal conduit, channeling the fluid out of the filter tank and back into the pool return loops. Conversely, during high-velocity backwash cycles, the piping manages turbulent, reversed water flows needed to fluidize and cleanse the silica media matrix, operating safely under standard system pressures up to 50 PSI without weeping, joint separation, or hairline cracking under heavy pump vibration surges.

Built to remain permanently submerged beneath hundreds of pounds of dense filter media, its durable polymer or PVC matrix completely resists structural warping, material brittleness, and corrosive breakdown from continuous exposure to intense pool sanitizers like chlorine, bromine, and winterizing chemical flushes. Due to its solid, thick-gauge cylindrical geometry, this individual lower piping assembly carries a net product and shipping weight of approximately 1.20 to 1.25 pounds (about 19.2 to 20.0 ounces).
