The Polaris VRX iQ Robotic Pool Cleaner is a premium, Wi‑Fi–enabled in‑ground pool robot designed for powerful, efficient cleaning with advanced smart‑navigation features. Its four‑wheel‑drive traction system gives it strong climbing ability on floors, walls, and the waterline, while its high‑flow vacuum and active brushing system maintain strong debris pickup throughout the cycle. Through the iAquaLink® app, you can schedule cleanings, monitor progress, and access remote control functions, while the top‑access filter canister makes debris removal quick and mess‑free. Built with a durable chassis and energy‑efficient motor block, it’s well‑suited for medium‑to‑large residential pools that need consistent, automated cleaning. Because it is a full‑size robotic cleaner with a 4WD drivetrain, internal motor system, and onboard electronics, the estimated weight generally falls in the range of 16 to 18 pounds.

The base Polaris VRX iQ Robotic Pool Cleaner uses the exact same electrical power architecture as its sibling, the VRX iQ+ model. It is a corded, low-voltage electric cleaner powered by standard household electricity.

Its power setup consists of:

  • The Control Box (Power Supply): This unit acts as the primary hub and plugs into a standard household 120V AC / 60 Hz outdoor electrical outlet. For safety, this must be a GFCI (ground-fault circuit interrupter) protected outlet.

  • Safe Power Conversion: The control box converts the high household AC voltage down to a water-safe 30V DC (direct current) before sending any electricity down to the pool. The system operates with an energy-efficient maximum power draw of 150 watts.

  • The Floating Cable: It delivers electricity down to the robot via a 60-foot double-insulated floating cable (note that the "iQ+" version upgrades this to a 70-foot cable). This cord is equipped with a built-in tangle-reducing swivel to keep power flowing freely without the cable twisting into knots.

  • Smart Power Loop: Like the iQ+, the control box houses a Wi-Fi transceiver that remains on a low-power standby loop, allowing you to connect the power hub to your home network for remote scheduling and control via the iAquaLink smartphone app.

It runs completely independently of your pool's filtration pump and does not require a booster pump.
